Off piste

As soon as you cross beyond the piste markers, you are off-piste…

Navigating different snow conditions, controlling your speed, anticipating the terrain…

You don’t need to tackle a "North Face" to learn a lot while riding these "near-piste" off-piste areas—provided you are equipped with a backpack containing an avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe.

Learning how to use this gear during your first lesson is highly recommended; it ensures the group has a basic level of theoretical knowledge and the opportunity to put it into practice.

You will also need equipment suited to the snow conditions.

A helmet is therefore mandatory, whether skiing or snowboarding.

Checking the weather forecast and the avalanche bulletin (B.E.R.A.) is essential.

HUMILITY: being willing to change your route to avoid putting yourself or the group in danger.
